Quick writeup backing my NE play.
-I bascially , cannot see Carolina winning this game simply dominating the ground game and controlling the clock in the process, as some said that they will. NE currently has the number 1 Total Def and is # 4 against the run. Belichick is very good at developing a game plan which usually targets a teams strength. For Carolina, it is the Run. This then is used to set up the play action pass. One problem, NE uses a 3-4 type of Def, but Belichick hides his scheme very well and that creates confusion in blocking schemes which the Off now has to figure out. Well, this confusion caused by the various ways that Belichick disguises his blitz packages and cover schemes is what has made his Defense one very hard Defense to crack. For Carolina, who has never faced a Coach or a Def like NE has , it will be a very complicated task for this SB rookie QB and his Offensive line. Carolina this year has faced 3 Defensess like NE's 3-4 style, and they lost 2 of 3 games against this type of Def. But again, none of these 3-4 Defenses has a Guru like Belichick, with two weeks to plan, running it. Carolina's Offense will try and pound the ball, but when they become unsuccessful at doing this, then they will now depend on one on one coverages against Muhammad or Smith. Only things is, the NE secondary is probably the Best Secondary they will ever have faced as well this year. The corners of NE led by Law have both 6 ints on the year and can blanket coverage anyone. But supporting them is the dangerous DB's , who I feel will have a Big day today, and that is Rodney Harrison and Eugene Wilson. Today, as the front Seven confuse Qb Delhomme into bad passes, these secondary will have many opportunities to play one deep and one short, taking more chances of intercepting his errant passes.
On the NE Offenses side of the Ball. I simply cannot see how the over talked about Dline of Carolina expects to be effective at getting to Brady who simply doesnt hold on to the ball long enough for anyone to get to him. All the talk about NE's lack of a ground game is absurd, especially when you have such an efficient type of short passing game such as NE has. Only thing that I can see working in the Carolina' s DLine's favor is that Brady is a pocket passer and they wont have to worry about him getting outside or scrabbling around. But still, Brady doesnt hold on to the ball long enough to get an active blitz or pass rush on him to make him throw errant passes. In almost 220+ pass attempts, it is no wonder that he has no ints. Here is the Key to the NE Off which I see as their main weapons or should I say weapons. NE and Brady doesnt rely on one or two key receivers to make the big catches. Nope , NE uses an abundance of different receivers into their schemes. In fact, Brady will have at his disposal 6 different receivers with over 25+ catches on the year and 5 of them have over 400 receiving yards. Also, NE has had 8 different players who have caught a TD pass from Brady. Talk about taking away a teams Keying up on a certain player. This distribution to several different receivers, as well as an efficient type of passing game that Brady will use, gives me enough reasons to believe that the NE Off will cause to many problems that the Carolina Def will not have answers to. The DLine I see will be made obsolete in this one, leaving the Secondary of Carolina to make big plays. This wont happen like it did in Philly, not against this QB and not against this Coach. Brady and Belichick to deadly a combination for the Delhomme and Fox in this NE's Dynasty Run. Take NE and Lay the TD. NE wins this one 27-16. Go Pats!
-This was just a quick opinion writeup gang, I think these factors will prove to be the major factors in producing a win for us today. Good Luck and now lets Cash yet another ticket today. Aloha CC.
